A prankster recently left his wife in stitches after sprinkling a seemingly romantic trail of confetti through their house, only for this to lead right up to the kitchen sink filled with dirty dishes. Joelle Legg, 37, was initially excited when her husband Mike Legg greeted her at the front door with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, but things quickly took a turn.
After taking Mike's hand, intrigued Joelle was led through a room decorated with balloons and confetti, and naturally expected an exciting surprise was in store after being asked to cut a hot pink ribbon and given a fluffy, bunny-shaped blindfold.
However, after being guided carefully to her "surprise", Joelle lifted the blindfold only to be greeted by a sink piled high with washing up.

In a TikTok video that has clocked up nearly 365,000 likes, holistic health coach Joelle could be seen in peals of laughter as she chucked the blindfold at her mischievous hubby, flipping him the middle finger as she chuckled, "f*** you." Personal trainer Mike may have initiated the prank but tickled Joelle had the last laugh, getting her cheeky husband to crack on with washing up himself.
Joelle, from Auckland, New Zealand, said: "I was definitely a little bit suspicious but I did wonder if he was going to be really sweet to me after a long day at work. I was very happy with the flowers because I never get flowers. It's very much his sense of humour. It started at the front door and went through to the kitchen.
"I became super suspicious when he got me to cut the ribbon. I wondered whether he'd bought me a new kitchen appliance or something and was really taking the p*** out of me. It would have been nice though. I'm pretty good with anniversaries so I knew I hadn't forgotten something. I thought 'maybe he is just being really romantic'."
Mike, who had bought the decorations earlier that day, set up the daft prank after putting their two young sons Rocco, six, and Brax, four, to bed, and says Joelle had "no idea what was going on."
He recalled: "She knew I was up to something, she cracked up when she saw the dishes. She could have got angry so her reaction was quite funny.
"I'm pretty sure she knew there was some kind of trick or prank coming but there may have been a bit of hope there. The boys cracked up when they saw the video, they knew I was blowing up balloons but they had no idea why.
"A lot of people say I need to buy her something nice and other people have given me a pat on the back. They've said they'll take my man card away. It was a win-win because she got flowers for the first time in ages and I ended up doing the dishes. She's very patient and she laughs when I do things like this."
According to Joelle, Mike has been regularly pulling pranks on her ever since they got married ten years ago, which often leaves her feeling "on edge".
She added: "If I didn't react so well he probably wouldn't do it. It's my nature, I'm happy-go-lucky but he does pick the right moments. He wouldn't get me if I was really sleep-deprived because it wouldn't go down well.
"Being married to him you have to be calm. Mike's sense of humour brings out the happy-go-lucky in me and that's one of the things I like about him. He loves to have a lot of fun and is genuinely a kind-hearted person so he'd never be mean, his heart is always in the right place."
