The husband of Colette O' Shea, who won the Irish Family Carer of the Year, has sadly passed away.
The Limerick community was saddened to learn that father-of-three Kieran O' Shea, who was battling Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and frontal lobe dementia, has passed away.
Last year, Colette won the Netwatch Family Carer of the Year for looking after her husband Kieran and their son Luke, who has complex Crohn's disease.

Friends of the O' Shea family set up a GoFundMe in November, to help alleviate the financial distress of Kieran's medical expenses, of which €128,000 was raised in support.
Kieran O' Shea of Ballyvarra, Lisnagry in Limerick, died peacefully at Milford Care Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on January 27.
One touching tribute said: "He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed."
Kieran is sadly missed by his loving wife Colette (née Hitchings), his adored children Luke, Hayden and Caoimhe, his mother Mary, sisters Denise and Deirdre, brothers-in-law Raymond and Ger, uncles, aunts, nephews nieces, kind neighbours and his many colleagues and friends.
Kieran (47) was a past employee of Curry's PC World.
One tribute described him as a "great colleague" who will be "sadly missed."
He will be reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, Limerick on Monday, January 30, from 5pm.
Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Ahane at 6:30pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday, January 31, at 11:30am. Burial afterwards in Stradbally Cemetery, Castleconnell.
One tribute wrote: "RIP Kieran. I'll miss the warm genuine personality you had and our chats in work back in the day. You were an honest, decent down to earth guy. Sending love and prayers to your family."
