A husband has filed for divorce after his wife had an affair with a "tantric sex guru".
Perry Greene, 48, is splitting from Georgia Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene just weeks before November's midterm elections.
The couple, who married in August 1995, have been together for nearly three decades and have three adult children.
Court documents revealed the pair had separated in the past from each other - but do not reveal what led to the couple's split.
Perry has asked for courts to split their assets and debts equally after filing for divorce in Georgia earlier this week.
Republican Marjorie, also 48, said in a statement to TMZ: "Marriage is a wonderful thing and I'm a firm believer in it. Our society is formed by a husband and wife creating a family to nurture and protect.
"Together, Perry and I formed our family and raised three great kids. He gave me the best job title you can ever earn: Mom. I'll always be grateful for how great of a dad he is to our children."
The divorce comes just as Marjorie is standing for re-election in the mid-terms after there were earlier questions on her suitability to run.
Voters in her Georgia district earlier this year claimed the congresswoman helped encourage the January 6 Capitol Hill insurrection.
They believed her actions helped facilitate the rebellion and said it made her ineligible for re-election under the 14th Amendment which deals with 'insurrection or rebellion'.
The congresswoman went on television the day before the insurrection and claimed it was "our 1776 moment" but has claimed she never agreed with the violence.
She has already been endorsed by former President Trump and has repeatedly refuted claims she wanted a rebellion.
It comes after she was engulfed in controversy last year for beginning an affair with a 'tantric sex guru' whilst starting divorce proceedings against her husband.
The politician had an affair with polyamorous Craig Ivey, 43, in 2012 after bumping into each other at her gym in Georgia.
She then had another fling with gym manager, Justin Tway, just as she began plans to divorce her husband in July 2012.
However, the pair made up and decided to stay together.
The divorce documents claimed the marriage was 'irretrievably broken' as she demanded half of the assets and custody of their three kids.
Construction boss Perry agreed to her demands and plans were set in stone for their divorce until it came to a crashing halt in September 2012.
They were able to repair their relationship after court papers suggested her affairs had finished.
The Republican, who was elected to Congress in November, claims she is a 'strong, conservative, Christian' and had strong 'family values'.
However, she has previously faced criticism due to her belief in the QAnon conspiracy theory that claims Democrats are controlled by a cabal of pedophiles who eat children.
The mum has also been criticised for questioning whether the 9/11 attacks were real.
