Storm Lorenzo UK LIVE path: Ex-hurricane slams into Ireland as UK braces for 65mph winds and flash flooding

Heavy rain and winds of up to 65mph are set to lash the UK tonight as Storm Lorenzo barrels its way across the country.

Gale force winds are expected along the Irish coast, with strong winds expected to cause travel disruption across Northern Ireland until later this evening.

A total of 43 flood alerts and 11 flood warnings have been issued across England by the Environment Agency, with "danger to life" alerts in place across central parts.

Lorenzo started as a hurricane and caused significant damage to the Azores in the mid-Atlantic before tracking north. It has now been downgraded to a storm.
