As Hurricane Debby approaches landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region, storm surge is rapidly accumulating along the shore. Despite high tide being projected for 4 a.m. at Cedar Key, the powerful winds of Hurricane Debby have caused the water level to rise by approximately a foot since then. This surge is a result of the storm's forceful winds pushing water towards the shore.
