Huntington Bancshares Stock: Analyst Estimates & Ratings

Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington Bancshares Incorporated (HBAN) is a multi-state diversified regional bank holding company for the Huntington National Bank. Valued at $25 billion by market cap, Huntington provides commercial, consumer, and mortgage banking services, offering various financial products to corporations and individuals.

The banking major has significantly outperformed the broader market over the past year. HBAN stock has soared 31.1% over the past 52 weeks and 5.7% on a YTD basis, outpacing the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 22.7% surge over the past year and 2.7% gain in 2025.

Narrowing the focus, HBAN has also outpaced the iShares U.S. Regional Banks ETF’s (IAT) 24.3% gains over the past year and 5.5% returns on a YTD basis.

Huntington Bancshares’ stock prices rose over 1% after the release of its impressive Q4 results on Jan. 17. The company achieved record fee income, accelerated loan growth, and sustained deposit gathering. Additionally, it observed success in its core businesses and investments in new geographies and commercial verticals. The quarter’s revenues surged nearly 13.9% year-over-year to approximately $2 billion, surpassing the street’s expectations by 3.6%. Meanwhile, its adjusted EPS of $0.34 exceeded the consensus estimates by 9.7%.

For the current fiscal 2025, ending in December analysts expect Huntington to report a 12.9% year-over-year growth in adjusted EPS to $1.40. Furthermore, the company has a robust earnings surprise history. It has surpassed the street’s bottom-line estimates in each of the past four quarters.

Among the 20 analysts covering the HBAN stock, the consensus rating is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on 11 “Strong Buy” ratings, one “Moderate Buy,” seven “Hold,” and one “Strong Sell.”

This configuration is slightly more bullish than a month ago when 10 analysts gave “Strong Buy” ratings.

On Jan. 31, Piper Sandler analyst Scott Siefers reiterated a “Sell” rating while setting the price target to $17.

HBAN’s mean price target of $19.05 represents a 10.8% premium to current price levels. Meanwhile, the street-high target of $22 suggests a staggering 27.9% upside potential.
