Hunter Schafer's Horror Film 'Cuckoo' Set To Premiere At Berlin Film Festival

Hunter Schafer, known for her role in HBO's Euphoria, is set to make her big-screen debut in the upcoming horror film 'Cuckoo,' directed by Tilman Singer. Singer, recognized for his work on projects like Luz and El Fin Del Mundo, is diving back into the horror genre with 'Cuckoo,' following his previous success with the film 'Luz.'

'Cuckoo' is scheduled to hit theaters on August 9, distributed by NEON. The movie's plot revolves around 17-year-old Gretchen, who moves to a resort in the German Alps with her father and new family. Strange occurrences begin to unfold, leading Gretchen to uncover a dark secret that involves her own family.

The cast of 'Cuckoo' includes not only Hunter Schafer but also Dan Stevens, Jessica Henwick, and Zita Hanrot. Singer has penned the script, with a team of producers backing the project.

Hunter Schafer's rise to fame began with her breakout role in Euphoria, a series that garnered critical acclaim and multiple Emmy wins. Schafer's involvement in the show extended beyond acting, as she co-wrote and co-executive produced a special episode that received accolades.

In addition to 'Cuckoo,' Schafer has appeared in 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,' portraying the character Tigris Snow. She is also set to star in Yorgos Lanthimos' upcoming film 'Kinds of Kindness' and another project titled 'Mother Mary.'
