Police have issued a CCTV picture of a woman they want to speak to after a man was left with life-changing injuries following an 'attack' in Stockport.
The man spent two weeks unconscious in hospital after being assaulted near a petrol station on Hall Street, police said. He became 'seriously ill' on the day of the reported incident in June.
The victim woke up in hospital in July and spoke to detectives. Circumstances still remain unclear, police added, and an investigation remains underway.
Police now want to speak to a woman pictured on CCTV about the incident. Anyone who recognises her is being urged to get in touch.
A post on the GMP Stockport Facebook page said: "#APPEAL | Can you help us identify this woman? We're wanting to speak to her after a man spent a fortnight in hospital unconscious with life-changing injuries.
"It remains unclear how he became seriously ill but we do believe he was assaulted near a petrol station on Hall Street at some point on the day he required hospital treatment back in June. "Anyone who may know this woman should contact us via LiveChat or by calling 101 quoting incident 1559 of 02/07/2022."
