Hunt for National Lottery winner as Set for Life jackpot in County Durham is still unclaimed

The hunt continues for the owners of three winning Set for Life tickets, with a huge cash sum from January waiting to be claimed from the National Lottery.

The tickets - which matched the five main numbers of the January 9 Set for Life draw were purchased in County Durham, and while it's still unknown if three people chose the same numbers, or one person duplicated the ticket accidentally, the £10,000 a month for a year cash prize is still yet to be collected.

The winning numbers on the night were 7, 16, 24, 29 and 31, with anyone in receipt of a winning ticket eligible to collect their prize before July 8. If left unclaimed, the prize will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the United Kingdom.

Speaking back in January about the unclaimed tickets, Senior Winners' Advisor for the National Lottery, Andy Carter, said: "This is incredible. Whether these prizes are one lucky ticket-holder or more than one ticket-holder who have happened to have played the same numbers in the same draw, it’s a total of three prizes worth £10,000 a month for one year waiting to be claimed.

“Did you visit family or friends in County Durham over the festive season or over New Year and buy a Set For Life ticket or are you a Set For Life player who lives in the area? We’re desperate to find the ticket-holder or holders and unite them with their winnings."
