Three years ago, on August 23 2016, Beyake Keita Ann was playing football with friends in Attock Park, Laisterdyke, Bradford.
At around 8pm a group of males attacked Beyake and his friends. The 21-year-old suffered serious head injuries. He died in hospital three weeks later.
West Yorkshire Police have now launched a fresh appeal for information, because Beyake's killers have never been caught.
A murder investigation was launched after his death which led to the arrest of more than 20 males. A number of suspects remain on bail.
'His family are still desperate to know why this happened'
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Ian Scott, said: "Three years have now passed since Beyake was brutally attacked and his family are still desperate to know why this happened and who was responsible.
“We are just as committed to getting the justice they deserve and are continuing to seek for the answers to these questions."
Today (Friday) there will be the annual community event in memory of Beyake in Attock Park between 11am and 5pm.
This will feature an under 16s five-a-side football tournament, activities for children and information stalls.
“We continue to believe they will be found in the local community and we again urge anyone who has information which may assist our enquiries to contact us.
“You can report it anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers either by calling 0800 555111 or using the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org, or you can contact my team on 101, quoting crime reference 13160363829.”
Crimestoppers is also offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information they receive which leads to a successful conviction.
