Hunt for driver who failed to stop for cops after crashing into other car in Coatbridge

A manhunt is underway to trace a driver who failed to stop for police after crashing into another car.

The incident happened around 10am on Tuesday morning at Gartcosh Road junction at Townhead Road, Coatbridge.

A Red Volkswagen Polo collided with another vehicle, and then failed to stop for officers when asked to do so before driving off in. the direction of Bargeddie.

Officers from Coatbridge have launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident, and are asking anyone with any information to please contact them on 1010 quoting incident number "0572 of 7th June 2022".

Meanwhile a police search is underway after a machete attack near a primary school in South Lanarkshire.

At around 8.35pm on Thursday a man was assaulted by another man, armed with a knife, in Rhyber Avenue, Lanark, close to Lanark Primary School.
