Hundreds of jubilant City fans celebrate at Piccadilly station after trophy parade

There were scenes of jubilation in Piccadilly station last night as Manchester City fans celebrated the club's historic treble.

Supporters sang and danced as they waited for their trains home after an open-top bus parade through Manchester city centre. Tens of thousands of City fans braved thunder, lightning and torrential rain to salute their team following their Champions League triumph on Saturday.

The parade was initially delayed by typically Mancunian weather, but that didn't stop Blues swarming into the city in huge numbers to watch the club's players and management make their way through the streets in an open-top bus along Deansgate and along a route to Oxford Street.

There, thousands more fans gathered to cheer their heroes as they paraded their Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies.

Following the parade, fans continued the celebrations as they made their way home via Piccadilly station. Footage shared on social media showed hundreds of euphoric Blues chanting and waving flags on the main concourse inside the station.

Passengers told of 'chaotic' scenes at the busy station as thousands of supporters attempted to get home. Trains were delayed while tram services were left completely packed out. The inclement weather conditions also reportedly caused delays across the rail network.

City clinched the treble with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul on Saturday to become Kings of Europe for the first time in their history.
