A huge Humpback whale has been spotted elegantly swimming along Scotland's coastline.
Sightings of the stunning marine animal were caught on camera in the Firth of Forth on Monday, May 2.
Footage of the incredible moment shows the whale coming to the surface of the water near Anstruther, Fife, to show off its large figure and fins.
It dives back below sea level before re-emerging, much to the delight of those behind the camera.
The mesmerising footage - captured by The Osprey, who provide boat trips around the Isle of May - has gone down a treat with locals.
Reacting to the video, one person said: "Absolutely amazing, I'm star-struck."
Another commented: "I'd love to be that close , just awe inspiring."
The last sighting of a Humpback whale in the Firth of Forth was recorded on January 1.
It was thought that the animal had vanished after surviving an entanglement with fishing gear in the New Year.
The whale got caught in ropes over the festive period with onlookers having spotted cuts to its tail stock and dorsal ridge on New Year's Day.
It is currently unknown if the mammal spotted earlier this week is the same Humpback that vanished at the start of the year.
