A non-profit group of humanitarian disaster response volunteers has been deployed to assist victims of the wildfires in Los Angeles. The group, known as Team Rubicon, is a team of volunteers from an NGO that specializes in providing aid during disasters.

LA Police Chief Jim McDonnell announced on Wednesday that the volunteers from Team Rubicon will be stationed at various checkpoints to assist the public. These humanitarian aid workers will be available to direct residents to resources, answer questions, and provide support to the community.

Team Rubicon was co-founded by Jake Wood, a former Marine, after he led a group of veterans on a mission to Haiti following the devastating 2010 earthquake. Since then, the organization has been actively involved in disaster response efforts around the world.

The deployment of Team Rubicon volunteers to assist with the wildfires in Los Angeles highlights the importance of collaboration between government agencies and non-profit organizations in times of crisis. Their presence at checkpoints will help ensure that residents receive the support and information they need during this challenging time.
