Recent discoveries of human remains in the Milwaukee area have left residents and authorities on edge as investigations continue to unfold.
Last week, a human leg was found at Wernimont Park in Cudahy, prompting a homicide investigation by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office. A person of interest is currently in custody in connection with the severed leg.
Following this initial discovery, more human body parts were found in a neighborhood near the park on Friday and again on Saturday. The area was cordoned off with crime scene tape as medical examiners arrived to assess the situation.
Residents in the neighborhood expressed shock and concern over the incidents, with one individual remarking on the supposed peaceful nature of the area.
Family members of a missing woman, 19-year-old Sade Robinson, reported finding her blanket with a picture of her face in a wooded area near the park. Robinson was last seen on April 1, and her car was later found torched in the same neighborhood on Tuesday night.
Authorities have not confirmed if the various instances of human remains being found are connected. The process of identifying the remains and determining their origin has not been disclosed by officials.
As investigations into these disturbing discoveries continue, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is working diligently to gather more information and ensure the safety of the community.
