Hull holiday home builders aim to 'revolutionise industry' with latest models

Two East Yorkshire holiday home manufacturers have launched new sector-advancing models as demand shows no sign of abating.

Lodge manufacturer Victory Leisure Homes has unveiled its two “most luxurious models yet”, with a double product launch that it says will “revolutionise the industry”. And Willerby has brought a “game-changing increase in kitchen storage” to the fore in its first new build using its trumpeted sustainability standards.

At Gilberdyke-headquartered Victory, part of Hull-headquartered Rix Group, where a further large manufacturing base has been brought online since lockdown, The Bower has been designed for families, with features including easy-clean surfaces and fabrics, additional space for highchairs and storage solutions created for extra toys.

The Franklin is described by Victory as having ‘luxury in its DNA’ – a statement backed up by the fact that it boasts a feature D-Shape full-size bath, king size bed, bi-fold windows a

contemporary kitchen with bench seating, a boiling hot water tap, a free-standing wine cooler, marble-effect worktops and black accent features.

Shirin Kemp, director of marketing and PR at Victory said: “The Bower and The Franklin are our most ambitious models yet. We had incredibly bold visions for each, with our design, innovation and manufacturing teams working together to develop homes that would revolutionise the industry. We set out to create the highest spec homes available on the market and that’s exactly what we’ve done.

“Our in-house construction technique – Novus – has enabled us to improve every part of the manufacturing process, creating a higher quality product. One of the many benefits is that we’ve been able to unlock more interior space by using new technology and materials. This has meant that we’re now launching the only 12ft holiday home on the market with both a full-size bath and full-size twin beds in the twin room.”

In a nod to its innovation credentials, Victory is now following a ‘visionary’ naming convention celebrating notable people from history. The Bower is named after Frederick Orpen Bower, the botanist who developed a theory on the lifecycle of plants, while the Franklin gets its name from Rosalind Franklin – who was instrumental in uncovering the early secrets of DNA.

“The launch of The Bower and The Franklin come off the back of a really successful 2022 for us,” Shirin said. “We’ve expanded our second factory in Hull, increasing operations and recruiting an additional 350 people to fulfil our order books – which are full until late 2023. But we’re certainly not stopping there and have big plans for the next 12 months - and beyond.”

Willerby has launched The Gainsborough, which in response to consumer feedback from members of its owners’ club, offers a 40 per cent increase in storage space.

Josh Mills, senior product manager at Willerby, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch the Gainsborough. Consumer research with the Willerby Owners Club indicated that almost all of our owners saw the kitchen as a top three factor in their purchasing decision, and having the maximum space possible was a key factor in which kitchen they would deem to be the best when comparing models.

“We’ve created the Gainsborough around an outstanding kitchen with a number of storage facilities new to Willerby holiday homes, and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product.

“It’s also exciting that the Gainsborough is the first completely new model to be designed and built to our pioneering new sustainability standard, which sets a new benchmark for the holiday homes industry in energy efficiency. The Gainsborough combines style, comfort, space and sustainability in a superb addition to the Willerby range.”
