Hugo Lloris believes that Tottenham's players are reaping the benefits of working with Antonio Conte, and insists that he has noticed a tangible difference since the Italian took over from Nuno Espirito Santo in November.
After an inconsistent run of results which threatened to completely derail their season, Spurs have established themselves as serious contenders for fourth spot and trail Arsenal, who currently occupy the coveted position by just three points. However, their north London rivals do have a game in hand.
Despite their lack of consistency under Conte, Spurs captain Lloris insisted that the players have bought into the Italian’s methods, and have garnered a greater understanding of what he expects from them. Both collectively and as individuals.

“Before projecting yourself, you have to take everything there is to take from a coach like him," Lloris told French publication L'Equipe.
“February was a little more difficult but we, inside the team, feel that there is progress, a real understanding of the structure he wants to give and I think that something is happening. He brought his passion, which can be extreme, his system, and his style of play and in four months, which is very little, we feel there has been an evolution.
“We hope that it will lead to a good end to the season.”
Lloris is also hopeful that Spurs can secure their first top four finish since 2019, the club having toiled in the Europa/Conference League in recent years. But the Frenchman is confident that they can get back to the top table of European football under Conte.
He added: “With him, we have a common goal – to surpass ourselves and to relive the great moments in the Champions League. He lives football 200 per cent, and there are plenty of things to learn from him and keep.”
