Tottenham have granted Hugo Lloris permission not to travel on their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia to complete a transfer away from the club.
The Spurs captain has only a year left on his contract and had been tipped to find a move this summer, which has now been all-but confirmed with this decision announced on Friday.
Exactly where Lloris ends up remains to be seen but Tottenham signed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli earlier in the transfer window as a potential replacement.
A 28-player squad has been picked for the pre-season tour, which starts with a friendly against West Ham in Perth on Tuesday. Games against Leicester and Singapore’s Lion City Sailors follow.
Tanguy Ndombele has made the plane in an indiciation he has a future in Ange Postecoglou’s side, as have recent loanees Giovani Lo Celso, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie and Joe Rodon.
Davinson Sanchez and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are also in the squad despite speculation over possible moves elsewhere.
A number of injured players will remain in north London to focus on their fitness, they include Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Fraser Forster (back), Bryan Gil (back), Troy Parrott (groin) and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring).
