Just last month, Hugo Lloris spoke about Antonio Conte's links with Paris Saint-Germain, which have resurfaced in the last few days, with Mauricio Pochettino's future at the French club in doubt. The Tottenham goalkeeper has been a key player, not just for Conte's side, but also for Spurs this whole season.
The skipper is one of the many players who has already praised the Italian's work in the capital. Lloris is likely to have one of the closest relationships with Conte, being the side's captain and earlier this month, the World Cup winner's admission indicated this.
"Since day one under Antonio Conte we can feel the improvement, we can feel the way he wants us to play. We faced difficulties and a tough moment in February with a few defeats that hurt the confidence of the team, but with the work - and it's no secret, with the repetition of work - we are at the level we're at today," Lloris said.

"We all enjoy playing together, suffering together. We can still improve in a lot of aspects of the game. We can get even more experience as a team under Antonio."
Despite Tottenham's last two results, a defeat to Brighton and draw at Brentford, the Lilywhites are still fifth in the Premier League. Conte's side are two points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, as they continue their battle to secure Champions League football for next season.
Over in France, Pochettino has just led his PSG side to become league winners in Ligue 1. However, the Argentine hasn't had the easiest ride at his new club and there are now doubts over his future.
After winning their first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League against Real Madrid, the French side went on to lose the second match, leaving the aggregate score as a 3-2 defeat. This saw PSG exit the European competition, much to the upset of fans who had seen their side reach the semi-finals of it last season.
There are now talks of Pochettino being sacked from his role and Conte is one of the rumoured names who could replace him. Not only has the 52-year-old only been in N17 for six months, but he has also been welcomed by Tottenham fans and players, who would not want to see him go.
The Italian has improved a number of his players both on and off the pitch and taken Spurs to levels above where they were at the beginning of the season. Last month, Lloris gave his views on Conte's links to PSG, in an interview with Europe 1.
"I think all the best managers are linked with PSG since they are chasing elite status and a Champions League victory. And for that, they try to trust the best," the keeper admitted.
"So we know the football industry. All these rumours, all this speculation. We're in our bubble and we're doing the best for our club."
As the 35-year-old alludes to, PSG want to be striving for the best and believe they can and if they aren't happy with their current manager, they will want to bring someone in who has proven success. Therefore it is no surprise that a manager like Conte has been linked with the job.
However last month, the Italian expressed his want to remain in the capital. "For sure at the moment there is only one truth - I am committed to this club for another year," he explained.
"The club wanted this type of situation and I accepted it because it was good to get to know each other. I can tell you that I am enjoying working for this club and I would like to fight for something important for this club.
"For sure it is true that I would like this - to fight for the future, to fight to be competitive, to fight to win and not only to finish fourth in the league, because I repeat, that is not my ambition. My ambition is to be competitive and to fight to win," the Italian added.
Conte's own admission and Lloris' thoughts indicate that the links may not be enough to tempt the current Spurs boss. Although Tottenham's recent results have proven there is still work to do, it feels like Conte's work is only just getting started and no one wants to see him go.
