Hugh Jackman has been nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a musical for his singing and tapping performance in the Broadway revival of The Music Man.
The Australian, who won the same award in 2004 for his performance as Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz, this time is nominated for his performance as con man, Professor Harold Hill, in the American classic.
Jackman was nominated along with co-star Sutton Foster, who is up for Best Leading Actress in a musical.
The show itself was also nominated for Best Revival of a musical.
A Strange Loop, the critically acclaimed musical by Michael R. Jackson, earned 11 nominations on Monday.
Jackson’s 2020 Pulitzer Prize drama winner about a black, gay man writing a show about a black, gay man earned nods for best musical, best leading man in newcomer Jaquel Spivey and best-featured actress for L Morgan Lee.
Lee has made history by becoming the first openly transgender performer to be nominated for a Tony Award.
