Firefighters have been battling a wildfire at a Highland estate since yesterday morning.
Emergency services were called to Balmacara Estate at 10.20am on Wednesday April 27 and have been on site since.
The wildfire appears to be spreading rapidly across the estate, which homes a huge variety of Scottish wildlife including red squirrels, dragonflies, pine martens, otters and Highland cattle.
Dramatic pictures show the massive area affected by the blaze, with black smoke seen billowing across the sky heading towards Kyle of Lochalsh and Badicau.
Locals and visitors being warned to stay away for their own safety.
A water-bombing helicopter has reportedly been employed to help extinguish the blaze, with six fire engines and two community response units still on site.
The National Trust of Scotland, who own the site, posted the warning of Facebook.
Sharing a dramatic image of the fir, they wrote: "BREAKING NEWS.
"There’s an ongoing wildfire spreading across part of the Balmacara Estate that’s reaching towards Kyle of Lochalsh and Badicaul.
"Scottish Fire and Rescue are actively tackling the blaze and a water-bombing helicopter has been employed. We’re asking visitors to stay away for time being for their own safety."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Spokesperson said: "We were alerted to the incident at 10.20am on April 27. We have been on scene since. We currently have six appliances and two community response units on site."
