A whale has sadly been washed up on the shores of a beach in East Lothian.
On Sunday morning, May 7, the local council issued a warning to those planning on visiting the beach in North Berwick.
The minke whale was 'badly decomposed' and a cordon was put in place while arrangements were made to remove it safely.

East Lothian Council warned the public to keep dogs away from it and to 'maintain an appropriate distance'.
Taking to Twitter they wrote: "Unfortunately, a badly decomposed minke whale has been washed up on North Berwick beach this morning.
"A cordon will be put in place while arrangements are made to remove it and people are advised to maintain an appropriate distance and to keep dogs away."
The mammal was safely removed later on Sunday. All strandings are reported to The Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme who will then decide if further investigation is necessary. The SMASS is the dedicated research and reporting scheme for stranded cetaceans, pinnipeds, marine turtles, and large sharks in Scotland.
This comes just a few weeks after the council reported that another minke whale had been washed up on the North Berwick shore.
Staff at the Scottish Seabird Centre raised the alarm after they spotted the mammal floating in the water at high tide on Wednesday before it came ashore near the harbour.
