Huge West Lothian fire breaks out as clouds of black smoke seen from Edinburgh

A major fire has broken out in West Lothian, with clouds of black smoke being seen from as far as Edinburgh city centre.

The blaze, in Linlithgow, has triggered a huge response from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with six appliances being deployed just after 11am on Wednesday, August 10.

Residents in Edinburgh have captured pictures of black smoke billowing into the air from miles away, raising concerns over the magnitude of the fire.
