Huge Ubisoft leak reveals 10 games planned for release in the coming years

Ubisoft is on a roll after releasing back-to-back gems in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Now, a new report has revealed how the gaming giant plans to continue that momentum with its best line-up of games in more than a decade.

In the next few years, Ubisoft reportedly has around 10 releases in the pipeline. These include new entries in its bread-and-butter franchises Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, The Division, and Ghost Recon.

Star Wars Outlaws release date

As for games you’ll be able to play sooner, Ubisoft is reportedly planning to release Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world game set in a Galaxy far away, in the first half of 2024. A new Assassin’s Creed, known internally as Codename Red, will arrive in the second half of the year.

That’s according to anonymous sources at Ubisoft, who spoke to the video game news site Insider Gaming

After teasing Star Wars Outlaws back in 2021, we got our first look at the game during the Xbox Direct showcase in June. An impressive gameplay video followed just weeks later. The ten-minute sequence featured a close-quarters blaster fight, a thrilling hover-bike chase, and a Starfield-style blast-off into outer space.

Upcoming Ubisoft games

Below is the full list of games Ubisoft currently has in the works, including a mainline Ghost Recon set during the fictional Naiman War, three Far Cry titles, several Assassin’s Creed games, and much more.

These are on top of already announced titles such as the mobile game The Division Resurgence, XDefiant, The Division Heartland, and Splinter Cell Remake.

  • Ghost Recon (Project Over)
  • Far Cry multiplayer (Project Maverick)
  • Far Cry mainline entry (Project Blackbird)
  • Far Cry untitled spinoff
  • Assassin’s Creed (Hexe)
  • Assassin’s Creed (Invictus)
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake
  • Several Assassin’s Creed games
  • A brand-new extraction game set during WW2

Ubisoft game delays

As exciting as the bounty of games sounds, it’s best to take it with a grain of salt considering Ubisoft’s recent track record.

The company has pushed back several projects and botched the releases of others. Take Skull and Bones, for instance; the pirate game has suffered countless delays and is now largely being written off by gamers before its release on February 16.

Separately, the ambitious sci-fi sequel Beyond Good and Evil 2 is nowhere in sight after 15 years in development. What’s more, shooter XDefiant was delayed indefinitely due to issues during its beta stage.

Ubisoft has also lost some goodwill with gamers courtesy of its pursuit of trends and controversial fads, including live service games and NFTs.

Inside the company, the environment of delays and profligate spending has caused morale to drop to an all-time low, per the report. Some staffers even raised concerns that the developer could succumb to the type of widespread layoffs that are plaguing the gaming industry.
