Tottenham Hotspur missed out on the chance to move level on points with Newcastle United after losing 3-2 at home to AFC Bournemouth.
Newcastle's 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa in the early kick-off presented Tottenham with the prime opportunity to cut the gap in the race for the top four.
However, Tottenham slumped to defeat as Bournemouth climbed six points clear of danger. Son opened the scoring for Tottenham when he converted Ivan Perisic's low cross from close range in the 14th minute.
Bournemouth mounted a comeback with Matias Vina equalising seven minutes before the break, and Dominic Solanke firing them into the lead six minutes after the interval.
Ex-Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma equalised for Spurs in the 88th minute, but Dango Outtara scored his first Premier League goal to earn the Cherries all three points in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Newcastle retain their three-point cushion and also boast a game in hand over Tottenham, who they face at St James' Park next weekend.
Here is how Newcastle supporters have been reacting to Tottenham's defeat on social media...
