A WORKER was left stunned after spotting a Navy submarine in the Firth of Clyde.
The underwater warship was pictured floating near Gourock in Inverclyde at around 8am on Thursday, April 24.
Sharing the submarine sighting with The Glasgow Times, the onlooker, who was heading to work in the area, said it was "a sight you don't see every day".
In the images, the mammoth sub could be seen floating in the water, accompanied by two boats.
(Image: Newsquest) The huge underwater vehicle was pictured near HM Naval Base Clyde - commonly known as Faslane.
Located in Helensburgh in Argyll and Bute, Faslane is the home to the "core of Submarine Services", including the UK's nuclear weaponry, and the new generation of hunter-killer submarines.
The Firth of Clyde is the estuary of the River Clyde, which runs through Glasgow, on the west coast of Scotland.
Due to submarines' locations not being disclosed in general, the Ministry of Defence and the British Royal Navy would not provide any information on the submarine spotted.
