Huge Los Angeles wildfire threatens multi-million pound mansions of Hollywood stars

The million dollar mansions of Hollywood stars are under threat from a 40-acre wildfire that saw hundreds of homes evacuated.

The dramatic blaze spread quickly towards the celebrity enclave of Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles - where stars such as Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Kobe Bryant call home.

Other celebrities including Sofia Richie  have shared photos of the fire which is threatening homes in excess of £3million.

Dramatic aerial footage shows fire fighters tackling the blaze that initially saw 200 homes evacuated - although that order has since been lifted.

The fire was initially reported as one acre in size but grew to 30 acres in less than an hour.

So far at least one person has been hospitalised in respiratory distress.

One firefighter was also taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center with heat exhaustion.

“These evacuations are just out of an abundance of caution. There are no structures threatened in the area at this time,” L.A. Fire Department Capt. Branden Silverman told the Los Angeles Times .

“We are going to have a significant amount of air resources coming into the area above those homes, so we’d rather have residents pack their bags and leave the area.”

Sofia Richie was amongst those to upload pictures of the blaze - putting up a picture on her Instagram story saying "oh no" as smoke billowed into the air.

Large plumes of smoke could be seen across the region with ash said to be falling on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Several Fire Department helicopters were fighting the blaze from the air with water drops.
