A huge fire that took place at Allied Glassworks on South Accommodation Road in Hunslet, Leeds was caused by a gas fire furnace, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has confirmed.
The fire could be seen from miles around, huge visible flames and smoke billowed from the blaze which led to the closure of the A61 Eastbound. Emergency services were in attendance to tackle the flames.
Six fire crews were in attendance during the blaze. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has now confirmed the cause of the fire. It has since been extinguished and crews have left the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called on 04/09/22 at 15:43 to reports of a building fire on South Accommodation Rd, Hunslet.
"Six crews attended (two from Hunslet, two from Killingbeck, Rothwell and Moortown).
"It appears that a gas fire furnace had spread to roof and machinery causing the fire.
"The fire was extinguished and the crews left the scene."
