Two huge knives were among a haul of weapons handed over to police by a member of the public in Bolton.
Officers say the four knives pictured were handed in over the weekend after being found hidden in a town centre car park. Greater Manchester Police shared an image of the haul, pictured alongside a 12-inch ruler for comparison.
The smallest knife appears to be less than a foot long, with the next smallest being slightly bigger. But they were found alongside two larger knives, which appear to be around twice the size of the others.
Worryingly, GMP says discoveries like this one are becoming a 'regular occurrence'. The member of the public who found them has been thanked for handing them in, and anyone who makes a similar discovery is being urged to contact police immediately.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for GMP Bolton North said: "Over the weekend a concerned member of the public spotted these weapons hidden in carpark in Bolton town centre. They immediately contacted the police who attended and collected them.
"Unfortunately this is becoming a regular occurrence and GMP would advise anyone who finds any items similar please contact us." Members of the public can contact GMP by phoning 101 or reporting issues online at gmp.police.uk
