A huge inferno broke out at a log cabin on a deserted island in Loch Lomond at the weekend.
Fire crews and teams from Loch Lomond Boat Rescue scrambled to Inchconnachan at 8.12pm on Saturday, May 28.
They had been alerted to the blaze ripping through an old boathouse on the island, which is in the Trossachs National Park and has been home to a population of wallabies since the 1940s.
Dramatic footage from the scene shows the flames engulfing the chalet as thick clouds of smoke spread into the evening sky.
Firefighters can also be seen using hoses in their efforts to put the blaze out.
Crews worked for more than two hours before successfully extinguishing the flames. There were no reported injuries.
Inchconnachan - also known as Wallaby Island due to its marsupial inhabitants - is currently undergoing transformational plans.
The island is owned by former BBC presenter Kirsty Young and her husband, Nick Jones. The couple hope to see the land turned into an eco-retreat.
They have pledged to transform the area into “a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy”.
Plans are currently with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park for a three-bedroom lodge and new boathouse.
Developers aim to demolish the ruins of the colonial-style timber bungalow built in the 1920s, creating a natural wet woodland on the site.
The cause of fire is currently unknown.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 8.12pm on Saturday, May 28, of a fire at a wooden chalet in Inchconnachan, Loch Lomond.
"Three fire engines were called to the scene.
"Firefighters worked until 10.55pm before leaving the scene having successfully extinguished the flames. There were no reported casualties."
