A freezer full of dead woodpigeons has been dumped on a Darlington street leaving council staff 'horrified' and searching for answers.
The large white freezer has been fly-tipped at the rear of Roseberry Street and Greenbank Road at some point on Tuesday, November 8, or on Wednesday morning (November 9).
Darlington Borough Council said staff were shocked to make the grim discovery and are now appealing for information to find out where the birds came from.

The council is asking anyone who saw the freezer being dumped or any restaurants or pubs that may have been offered the birds to contact them.
Councillor Mike Renton, cabinet member for stronger communities, said: “It really is quite horrifying that anyone could do such a thing, and we are determined to catch those responsible and prosecute them. We would urge anyone with any information to let us know.
"Anything you tell us will be treated with absolute discretion, but we need your help to put a stop to this!”
