Three ISO containers and two vehicles were caught up in a fire on an industrial estate in Bridgend. Officers received a call regarding a commercial fire at 6.12pm on Monday, April 11, located on the Village Farm Industrial Estate in Pyle, Bridgend.
Multiple crews attended the scene and reported a "large, well-developed fire". Crews used hose reel jets, breathing apparatuses and a triple extension ladder, and were at the scene for just over three hours.
Police were also in attendance and worked alongside the fire service to assist with road closures during the fire. Following the fire investigation the suspected cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental ignition, a spokesperson has confirmed.
A representative from the South Wales Fire and Rescue service said: "At approximately 6:12pm on Monday the 11 th of April 2022, we received reports of a commercial fire near Village Farm Industrial Estate in Bridgend. Several crews from across South Wales attended the scene of a large, well-developed fire alongside emergency service colleagues.
"Firefighters used specialist equipment including hose reel jets, breathing apparatuses and a triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire which affected approximately three ISO containers and two vehicles. Crews carried out a re-inspection as a safety precaution and a stop message was received at approximately 9:38pm."
