A huge emergency services response was sparked after a woman fell into the River Mersey in south Manchester.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene in Northenden just before midnight last night (Tuesday). The Water Incident Unit was also scrambled after the woman fell into the water near the Palatine Road bridge.
She was taken to hospital from the scene, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said. Her condition has not yet been confirmed.

Several emergency services vehicles were pictured at the scene in the early hours of this morning. Fire crews responded for more than two hours.
A NWAS spokesperson said: "We responded to an incident where a person had fallen in the water near the Palatine Road Bridge following a call at 00.01. Two ambulances, a response vehicle and HART all attended. A female patient was taken to hospital."
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: "At approximately 11.55pm on Wednesday, 19th April, firefighters were called to assist police at an incident near to Palatine Road, in Northenden. Fire engines from Wythenshawe and Withington stations, alongside the Water Incident Unit from Eccles, quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters were in attendance for just over two hours."
