A huge drive in cinema is heading to Liverpool next week and it promises to be “the perfect antidote to months of Covid gloom”.
Following a run of successful events in Scotland, The Parking Lot Social is coming to Liverpool from September 23 to 27.
The drive in events will feature a range of different entertainment, including film screenings, stand up comedy shows, interactive party shows and more, with the event broadcast from the stage to guests’ cars.
Shows coming to Liverpool include the Parking LOL Comedy Night with stand-up from Rob Mullholland, Nina Gilligan and Welsh comedian Morgan Rees.
There will also be screenings of Mamma Mia, Grease, IT and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The Big Weekender shows will feature a car-a-oke mass singalong with live music, DJ battles, party bingo with prizes and interactive quizzes where guests compete with each other.
There are also family-friendly events planned across the weekend, with a Big Family Quiz and silent disco.
Each event will have strict social distancing measures in place throughout.
Josh Kinnersley, chief operating officer at XL Event Lab which is staging the events, said: “Scotland was an absolute blast with so many events selling out we had to add on extra days in every city we played.
“We’ve just completed another string of brilliant events in Newcastle, and we can’t wait to bring the party to Liverpool.
“Our line-up is packed with the most feel-good entertainment tailored to a drive-in, and there’s really something for everyone. Whether you like snuggling up with a good film, belting out the pop classics or showing off your trivia skills, there’s an event for you.

The Parking Lot Social will run at Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s car park from September 23 - 27. Tickets start from £31.57 per car.
