Huge discounts as two White Rose Centre stores are set to close

Two long-standing stores at the White Rose Centre are set to close their doors in the coming weeks.

A jewellers and a a branch of a women's fashion change are set to close and have started to sell off remaining stock at discount prices.

Both Miss Selfridge and Whittakers Jewellers have started their closing down sales, with huge banners advertising the potential savings in their front windows.

The signs declare that everything must go from both stores, with up to 70% off some of the items.

It is unclear whether the closure of the White Rose branch of Miss Selfridge is linked to plans announced by owning group Arcadia back in July, when it was first mooted that 25 stores could close nationally.

No exact date has been announced for the closure of either store yet.

With no store in Leeds city centre, Miss Selfridge fans will now have to travel to Bradford or Huddersfield for its fashions.

And the closest Whittakers Jewellers to Leeds is now in the north east, with branches in Yarm and Morpeth.

City centre shopping centre Trinity Leeds has also seen businesses move out recently.

Last week Brazillian eaterie Cabana Leeds closed its doors after five years at the centre, then days later Pret A Manger vacated its unit on the first floor.
