Huge Christian Pulisic transfer update as Chelsea star sparks Newcastle and Man United interest

Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has been given the 'green light' to leave the club according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano claims that AC Milan have been told about the player's situation but that other teams are keen. Their priority is reportedly a permanent move and that will be Chelsea's, too, given the player is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge come the end of the month.

Pulisic has struggled for form at the Blues since he moved to Stamford Bridge from Borussia Dortmund for £58 million back in 2019. The 24 year-old has had to deal with a revolving door of managers and battles with fitness, but he has not been able to produce consistently for Chelsea.

Indeed, interim head coach Frank Lampard afforded Pulisic only 33 minutes from the final seven games of this season, giving the player little chance to shine amid hopes of securing a move away from London. Chelsea's Premier League rivals Manchester United and Newcastle United have both been linked with Pulisic, while Italian sides Napoli and Milan both hold an interest in the player too.

With the Blues looking to try and cut down a bloated squad, Pulisic is an obvious candidate for a departure given his contract situation and the fact he is now behind new arrivals Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk, both wingers who joined in January. "It (has) been an interesting journey at club level for me," Pulisic said.

"The last couple of years just haven't gone at all how I planned them to be. Right now, my focus is obviously here with the national team, and from there, this summer obviously you're going to have to see what happens.
