A huge cannabis farm with thousands of plants was uncovered after police raided a warehouse.
Merseyside Police confirmed officers found more than 2,500 cannabis plants in various stages of growth after raiding a warehouse on Lorn Street, Birkenhead. At around 9.25am yesterday, Thursday, November 17 officers smashed into the warehouse and found cannabis growing in 12 rooms as well as three drying rooms.
Three men aged 33, 43, and 40, all of no fixed address, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. The suspects remain in police custody.

Scottish Power also attended the warehouse, close to an area of wasteland next to Wirral Metropolitan College's Conway Park campus, to make sure the electrics were safe. The warehouse was made stripped by Merseyside Police 's cannabis dismantling team and enquiries remain ongoing.
Sergeant Kevin O'Rourke from CID said: “This was a significant hoard of cannabis in various stages of growth seized by our officers which will make neighbouring properties and the local community a safer place to live. The dangers posed by cannabis farms and extracting electricity illegally in this manner poses a serious dangerous risk of fire and flooding to residents living nearby, especially when criminals tinker with the wiring and overload plugs.
“If you spot any signs that cannabis is being grown near where you live and work please let us know so that we can continue to take action. Any information helps residents and the work we do, so make us aware and we will investigate.”
