Huge cannabis farm found spread across six rooms of house

A man has been arrested after officers found a huge cannabis farm.

Officers were called to Esher Road in Kensington after reports of cannabis cultivation, and found a total of 290 cannabis plants and related growing paraphernalia across six rooms at a property. Yesterday evening, Wednesday, December 28, at around 11.35pm police officers arrested a 35-year-old man.

The man, from Kensington, was arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and has since been taken to a police station for questioning. Pictures shared by Merseyside Police show rooms full of the plants. Sockets can be seen full of plugs with wires, and sections of the wall space are covered in what looks like wallpaper stuck to the wall with duct tape.

Matt Brown heads Merseyside Police's cannabis dismantling team. He said: "This significant find removes a risk of flood and fire from the neighbourhood. Nobody wants to live near to such a dangerous premises.

"People who use cannabis in any quantity might think they are doing no real harm to others, but each and every ounce purchased is contributing towards organised crime across Merseyside, where serious violence and disputes are often the result.
