Huge American clothing brand closes flagship store in Scottish city

A MAJOR US clothing brand has announced the closure of its flagship Scottish store.

Hollister opened its first branch in Scotland in 2010 in Union Square, Aberdeen.

But the firm has now confirmed that it is set to close at the end of February, although an exact date is yet to be confirmed.

A statement provided to the Press and Journal, from Abercrombie & Fitch said: “We can confirm we will be closing our Union Square Hollister store at the end of February.”

A further statement said: “We believe stores matter and we are exploring new store opportunities in the UK, including in Aberdeen, to provide a great shopping experience for our customers. ”
