Huddersfield Town boss makes Bolton game plan admission after draw & drops team hint for Burnley

Huddersfield Town head coach Danny Schofield felt Bolton Wanderers broke through his side's structure in the second half as the Whites came from behind to claim a draw.

Wanderers' first team were playing for the seventh and last time before the League One season gets under way next weekend. The Whites will travel to take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Town took the lead in the first half when Danny Ward headed home to put the Championship side ahead. But Wanderers built up a head of steam after the break and deservedly got back on level terms thanks to Kieran Sadlier coming off the bench to curl home a sublime strike and ensure the contest ended even with the final act of the encounter.

The Terriers meanwhile are busy preparing for the start of the Championship season. They take on relegated Burnley next Friday night at the John Smith's Stadium to kick off their campaign.

Schofield says though his side 'knew what to expect' from Ian Evatt's side and pressed high in the first half well to gain success and go ahead, but he felt Wanderers reacted to this after the break. He also hinted the Terriers are 'almost there' with their team selection decision for the Clarets after selecting a strong side against the Whites.

Speaking to YorkshireLive, Schofield said: "It was certainly a competitive game, we knew what to expect from Bolton, we had a game plan to go and press them quite aggressively and high up the pitch. I thought at times we were successful at that, and had a good structure, but then second half we suffered a bit as they broke it.

"I think we're almost there with the idea of the first eleven for Friday now, there's obviously areas where we want improve but we've had a very short pre-season, we crammed lots of things in physically and tactically, it's an important week now to build up to Burnley."
