Another business in Nottinghamshire appears to have closed down. Stock Giant on Hucknall high street is believed to have shut before Christmas.
With the bargain store currently empty, shoppers in the town have spoken to Nottinghamshire Live about the retail offering in the area. They have also shared what they would like to see replace Stock Giant.
Claire Harrison, 40, lives in Hucknall. Claire has noticed that the bargain shop has been empty for weeks.

She said: “I had been in it [the shop] a few times. I know there’s one on Arnold’s front street too.
“I’ve heard it's going to be another bargain shop but I couldn’t say for sure. In Hucknall, there aren’t as many cafes on the high street compared to other places in the city so a nice cafe here could work.”
The full-time mum added: “I don’t want to see any more charity shops in the area. As much as you can find a bargain in them, we don’t need any more.”
There is currently a Stock Giant in the Idlewells Shopping Centre, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and on Front Street in Arnold. Many of the Stock Giant shops rebranded from Stock Monster.
Lindsey Graham, 31, is from Hucknall. The sales assistant said: “I thought it was going to be another boutique but I guess not now.
“I’d love to see an independent book shop here. I don’t think Hucknall has one so that I’m sure would go down well.”
Lindsey added: “We already have a clothes shop, barbers, corner shops. We have big-brand shops too, so it would be nice to see something different.”
Gary Smithson, 46, lives in Hucknall. He said: “No more barbers and no more charity shops. Whatever it is, hopefully it’s something purposeful otherwise in another year or six months, the same question of what we want to see will be asked again.”
Gary, who works in construction, added: “I can’t think of what I’d want to see here but I’d definitely like to see it become something instead of empty.” Nottinghamshire Live has contacted Stock Giant for a comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
In December, it was announced that Hucknall had missed out on £11million from the Government's Levelling Up Fund. The money would have been used to improve the market, roads and sports facilities in the town centre.
