Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4: elevate every moment

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4.

What do you look for in a pair of true wireless earbuds? Great sound quality? Effective noise cancellation? Calls that are as clear as a bell and a luxurious design that’s guaranteed to turn heads? Some earbuds nail one of maybe two of these, but it’s a rare beast indeed that ticks all the boxes. Meet the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4, the next generation of wireless earbuds.

Unparalleled sound

As the first pair in the new Huawei Sound brand, the FreeBuds Pro 4 are testament to just how seriously Huawei takes audio quality. Huawei Sound represents the pinnacle of Huawei’s audio brand – only cream of the crop devices are bestowed such an honour.

The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 feature Dual-driver True Sound, comprising a quad-magnet dynamic driver unit and an ultra-high-frequency (UHF) planar diaphragm unit. Paired with advanced digital cross-over technology, the drivers seamlessly knit together four threads – clarity, layering, spatiality and dynamics – to bring music to life.

Clear: With an ultra-wide frequency response, the quad-magnet dynamic driver is capable of reproducing deep, rich bass as low as 14Hz, while the UHF planar diaphragm delivers pristine highs up to 48kHz. That’s a sound with remarkable levels of clarity.

Layered: Digital cross-over technology minimises overlap and enhances separation, keeping vocals distinct from background music. That means you can pick out individual instruments even from within densely-packed orchestral arrangements, and fully appreciate what they bring to the party.

Spatial: The earbuds’ acoustic chamber is balanced to optimise reverberation, creating an expansive soundstage with precise imaging and depth, creating fully immersive surround sound, enveloping you in a sonic bubble which you won’t want to leave.

Dynamic: The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 are bursting with power, thanks to their 130dB dual-magnet dynamic driver. The enhanced dynamic range and transient response result in a broader frequency range and lower distortion, with dramatic volume changes and truly thunderous bass.

This is all bolstered by a triple adaptive EQ, powered by smart algorithms that continuously optimise the sound based on your ear, the fit and even the playback volume.

Clearer calls

Of course, wireless earbuds aren’t just for music and podcasts – they also let you take hands-free calls. While some brands might treat this feature as an afterthought, Huawei has imbued the FreeBuds Pro 4 with advanced AI noise cancellation and high-sensitivity bone conducting microphones to deliver rock solid call connections free of distracting background noise. With 100dB of noise cancellation, and voice isolation technology (via a bone-conduction VPU microphone) filtering out ambient noise, environmental sounds won’t encroach on your calls, so the caller will never know you’ve nipped to the bar instead of burning the midnight oil in the office.

Environmental noise reduction is precise too, because the multi-channel deep neural network (DNN) algorithm can identify and differentiate between different types of ambient noise by frequency range. That means background sounds are tamped down with expert precision without impacting on the sound of your voice. And calls remain clear even in winds of up to 10m/s, allowing you to stay connected with loved ones even during challenging conditions.

Codecs without compromise

All the hardware in the world isn’t much good if you don’t have the audio formats to back it up. The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 support up to 2.3Mbps of lossless audio transmission, bringing immersive high resolution audio to your personal listening. Huawei’s proprietary Bluetooth protocol L2HC 4.0 codec allows uncompressed transmission of high-quality lossless audio at 48kHz/24-bit.

In plain English, that means that songs played in this way will retain the detail captured in the original studio recordings – detail that is lost during the compression process. Subtleties like the singer’s breath, notes with more definition and incidental details that would otherwise have been lost will all be preserved. They truly breathe new life into recordings.

It also keeps the audio free from distortion – essential for fans of audiophile-grade recordings.

The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 also support L2HC 2.0 and LDAC™ high-resolution codecs, broadening the scope of source material that can be enjoyed at a higher quality.

Designed with no strings attached

The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4’s Silver String Design evokes the beauty and elegance of stringed instruments, blending refined luxury with unparalleled craftsmanship. The charging case’s ceramic backplate has a glossy, jade-like finish that was achieved by firing it at 1480 degrees Celsius for 72 hours, followed by meticulous polishing with a diamond alloy spinning at 25,000 rotations per minute.

And with three sophisticated colourways to choose from (Obsidian Black, Snow White and Spruce Green), the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 will elevate your style in a timeless fashion.
