HSE calls on two groups of people to come forward for 'next dose' of Covid vaccine

The Health Service Executive has called on two groups of people to come forward for another dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Cases of the virus are no longer reported on a daily basis, but it continues to circulate in the community - putting those most vulnerable at risk.

According to the latest figures, as of 8:00 am today there are 231 people in hospitals across the country receiving treatment for the worst effects of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, there are now 21 people in the ICU as a result of Covid-19, while the positivity rate is at 16.7 %.

The public is being reminded that they may be eligible for their next dose of available vaccines, which can be booked online.

In a post on Twitter, the HSE wrote: “If you’re 65 or over, or you have a weak immune system, you can book an appointment for your next dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at a pharmacy.”

You should get a second booster at least 4 months - at least 120 days - after your first booster.

If you have had Covid-19 since your first booster, wait at least 4 months before you get a second booster.

If you are 65 or older and booking a second booster appointment, book an appointment at any clinic for people over 30.
