Since 1993, visitors have been allowed in to Buckingham Palace during the summer months to walk around lavishly-decorated 19 State Rooms. Following the Queen's death, no tours are possible and there is currently no public access to the historic building.
While tours are not operating at the moment, it is still possible to take a look at the gilded interiors - without a queue. Google Arts and Culture offers a virtual chance to walk through the palace with Street View.
It offers a glimpse of State Rooms used throughout the year for official entertaining and ceremonial functions - however the rooms might have a few unexpected additions. Cameras took a look around during an exhibition by the Commonwealth Fashion Council, so on the Google tour each room is adorned with mannequins that were dressed to impress for the occasion.
The 2018 event aimed to celebrate and showcase designs, designers and artisans from across the Commonwealth’s 53 countries. A reception at the palace was held during London Fashion Week to celebrate the inaugural Commonwealth Fashion Exchange.
Google cameras have also explored the outside of the palace - so you might well catch a glimpse of yourself at the gates.
