The temperature is set to drop again in the coming months as snow is predicted down here in the West Country. And, with energy and food prices still on the rise, keeping households warm and fed can be an extra struggle during colder weather.
Fortunately there is a tool that many still aren't aware of - the Cold Weather Payment checker tool from the government. And there isn't long left to use it.
The Cold Weather Payment Scheme is available to people in Bristol and runs from November 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, meaning you only have a few weeks left to receive your payment. It's worth noting though, that Cold Weather Payments are only paid out to those eligible, who receive certain benefits or Support for Mortgage Interest.

To check if you are eligible for a Cold Weather Payment in your area, simply enter your postcode in the box on this page. The average temperature in your area must also be recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below for seven consecutive days in order for a payment to be issued.
We checked each Bristol postcode to see how many Cold Weather Payments are due, following periods of cold weather, in each area. All information is correct at time of writing (March 7) but may change following future cold weather - you can check your postcode for up-to-date information using the link above, but remember the scheme runs until the end of March.
