With the cost of living crisis becoming a significant problem in all of our lives, with energy bills skyrocketing, little luxuries like foreign holidays or trips away to watch your favourite bands may very well have to be put on hold this year.
Luxuries like music festivals are becoming a casualty in the social calendars of many this year, as non essentials are pushed to the wayside. But there is a way you can still go to many major festivals this year without paying a penny.
Jolly Green Sherpas, a festival luggage service for campers when they arrive, is looking for volunteers to come forward to work between 12 to 20 hours in return for a full weekend festival pass with camping. We've profiled all the big names set to perform in Swansea in 2022. You can read about that by clicking here. Get stories like this straight to your inbox with our newsletters.

It writes on its website: "Jolly Green Sherpas is a festival luggage service for campers when they arrive. So this means, if you volunteer at festivals with us – most of the work is out of the way before the festival gets going, then it’s just a few hours on the Monday morning as people are leaving.
"In general, you are required to complete only 12, 16 or 20 hours volunteering (depending on the festival), in exchange for a full weekend festival pass with camping. If you work in other areas of the event, you will likely miss a lot of the music as you will have shifts over the whole weekend. But with us, you won’t miss a thing. You will never have to work Friday evening, all day Saturday or all of Sunday – so you are just free to enjoy the festival."
You have the option of applying to volunteer at many different festivals, including Download at Donington Park between June 10 and 12, this year being headlined by Kiss, Iron Maiden and Biffy Clyro. You can also volunteer for Kendal Calling , taking place from July 28 to 31 at Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District, being headlined by Supergrass, Stereophonics and Bastille.
Another festival you could be part of is Truck Festival at Hill Farm in Oxfordshire from July 22 to 24, being headlined by Bombay Bicycle Club, Sam Fender and Kasabian. Boardmasters is also a possibility, which taking place in Cornwall between August 10 and 14 will feature headliners George Ezra, Disclosure and Kings of Leon.
If you fancy working for free tickets at Nass Festival in Shepton Mallet, near Bristol, it takes place between July 7 and 10 and features headliners Headie One, Loyle Carner and AJ Tracey. You can also put yourself forward to be part of the Creamfields event in Daresbury, Cheshire in August, which will feature big names like Fat Boy Slim, David Guetta and Tiësto.
