The Boston Celtics traded veteran point guard Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies for Washington Wizards star big man Kristaps Porzingis, and the deal creates a new style of play the franchise will have to work out during the 2023-24 campaign.
Smart’s leadership and willingness to hold teammates accountable will be missed, but Porzingis’ shooting makes Boston harder to guard, despite concerns about the Latvian center’s injury history and availability.
What will Boston’s new identity be with the addition of the sharpshooting big man? To get a better idea of what that might look like, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast linked up with Turner Network Television sideline reporter David Aldridge.
To hear what the trio had to say about the Unicorn’s fit with the Celtics, take a look at the clip embedded above from the All Access on CLNS official YouTube channel.
