Star Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis had a massive preseason with his new ball club after the Celtics traded away veteran floor general Marcus Smart to acquire him from the Washington Wizards earlier in the NBA’s 2023 offseason. His health will of course dictate how impactful he proves to be for Boston in their 2023-24 campaign, but if the fit and chemistry work out for the Celtics and Porzingis, how good could he play this season?
His defensive skill, particularly in pick-and-roll situations, has been better than expected, and while the competition faced by Porzingis hasn’t been top-tier, it’s still impressive.
