Trent Alexander-Arnold is poised to play a major role in whether Chelsea can complete the signing of Raheem Sterling. The Manchester City forward has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and the Liverpool defender looks set to ease his countryman's transition.
football.london understand that talks between Sterling and the west Londoners are progressing well. Thomas Tuchel's side are said to have agreed a deal with City worth £55million including add-ons for the 27-year-old's signature.
With a move to the Blues seemingly on the cards this summer, the England international has begun preparing for life away from the Etihad after agreeing to sell his current property near Manchester, according to The Mirror. The report adds that Alexander-Arnold has been in talks to purchase Sterling's house in Cheshire, which is set to cost the England international around £4.5million.

It's said that Alexander-Arnold currently lives on the same road as Reds team-mate Alisson Becker and departing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. But, with Sterling poised to leave City, the defender is reportedly set to move in.
The situation hints that a move to Chelsea is snowballing as Tuchel continues to await his first signing of the summer. Todd Boehly, who agreed a £4.25billion deal to buy the west London club last month, is expected to 'push for A-list signings' to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, according to the MailOnline.
With the new ownership group eager to bolster the Blues' armoury, The Telegraph report that after player sales are taken into account, Tuchel is set to have £200million at his disposal to strengthen his side. As part of Boehly's mission to strengthen Chelsea, it's believed that the American billionaire is keen to narrow the gap between the west Londoners and the Premier League's runaway title contenders City and Liverpool.
And, by signing one of Pep Guardiola's leading forwards, it's certainly the way to go. Though City have already welcomed Erling Haaland to the Etihad, which will almost certainly cause Chelsea a problem this season.
