How Tottenham could line up next season if Daniel Levy appoints Ange Postecoglou as next manager

Ange Postecoglou is the latest name to be installed as the bookies' favourite for the Tottenham Hotspur head coach vacancy. Making a real impression during his two years at Celtic, the Greek-born manager has the opportunity to lead his side to a domestic treble when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final next weekend.

Winning two trophies in his debut campaign at Celtic Park and giving fans an exciting brand of football to watch week in, week out, it is no surprise to see why the 57-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Premier League. Postecoglou would certainly help Daniel Levy deliver his promise of "football you will love to come and watch" at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if appointed as the next manager.

Having a clear football philosophy and not diverting away from it at all, the former Australia boss could be the ideal candidate to oversee a key change on the pitch for the Lilywhites after their struggles under Antonio Conte, Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho. So what exactly would a Postecoglou Tottenham team look like? football.london takes a look below.

4-3-3

Postecoglou has enjoyed great success with a 4-3-3 formation at Celtic. Having options further forward with three attackers in the starting XI, the trio are then further supplemented by support from the midfielders and full-backs.

With the two attackers on either side of the central striker staying wide, this creates space in the inside channels for the midfielders to get close to the striker and the full-backs to also move inside and offer extra attacking options.

Having a number of wing-backs at the club already in order to fit Antonio Conte's system, Postecoglou, if appointed manager, may need to convert them to full-backs unless, like Ivan Perisic, they can operate further up the pitch. As they are given licence to push upfield in his system, this could benefit attack-minded players such as Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.

In terms of the midfielders at the club, one of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Yves Bissouma could play in the deeper role for Postecoglou, which in turn would allow Rodrigo Bentancur to push forward. Amid links with James Maddison this summer, the England international's attacking qualities would see him operate close to the striker and excel in the final third.

Up front, Tottenham would then be able to choose two from Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min to play either side of Kane in attack.

Potential Tottenham XI: New goalkeeper; Porro/Emerson, Romero, new centre-back, Udogie/Davies; Bissouma, Bentancur, new midfielder; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
